New Laws Affect
Virginia Drivers
C. H. Lamb, Commissioner Division of Motor Vehicles, calls to the attention of Virginia drivers that new driver license fees are going into effect. The present $6 fee for an original and renewal operator’s permit will become $7. The present $3 fee for the original and renewal chauffeur’s license will become $4. The fee for any duplicate license will change from $.25 to $1. The new fees will apply on all applications received on and after July 1, 1968.
Commissioner Lamb further points out that the applicant for a driver’s license must provide his social security number on all applications made on and after July 1.
If the applicant does not have a social security number issued to him, he should write the word “none” in the space provided on the application.
Applications for driver’s licenses with a new format showing the new fees and providing a space for the social security number will be available at all DMV offices and examining stations.
