Miss Kim Gilkey spent last Monday night with Miss Nancy McNeill in Front Royal.
Mrs. Sam North entered Warren Memorial Hospital last Wednesday for treatment.
Gayle Wines, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wally Wines, fell off a porch at her home last Wednesday and broke a leg. She was treated at Warren Memorial Hospital and a cast applied. She is recuperating at her home.
Hubie Gilkey and Bradley Williams attended the County Firemen’s Association meeting at Castleton Friday night. Mrs. Roy Mathena was confined to her home last week by cuts and bruises she received as the result of an automobile accident on August 10. Jerry Williams spent Saturday night with Ray Priest in Front Royal.
Basil Kuser visited his brother, Carroll Kuser Saturday afternoon in Hillcrest Nursing Home in Winchester. Mrs. LeMerle Williams was a Monday visitor of Mrs. Thomas Leake and family in SgNrcyvilte. Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Harris and daughter Emily of Chambersburg, Pa. spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Andrew R. Williams. Their other daughter, Candace, who had spent a week with her grandparents, returned home with them. Mr. and Mrs. Philip Moore of Blue Ridge Estates are spending this week with their grandson, Marvin Nielson at State College, Pa. Mrs. Myrtle Chastain and Mrs. Bessie Parks were recent visitors in Spencerville, Md. Howard Cheney made a business trip to Alexandria last Wednesday. | Homemakers Meet! Tour New Market
Sixteen members of the Amissville Homemakers Club | were present for the August meeting held on the 7th. Mrs. Doris Kerns of Charlottesville attended as a visitor with her sister, Mrs. George Lawrence.
The program, conducted by Mrs. Omega Hitt and Mrs. Katherine Riley, was on “Correct Fit of a Garment”.
A group of the club’s members recently made a tour to New Market where they saw a demonstration by John C. Crim on making Colonial Handcraft Trays and other work of this kind. Those on the tour were Mrs. F. L. Bowey, Mrs. Nelson Burner, Mrs. H. R. Terhune, Mrs. S. W. Riley, Mrs. Russell Hackley, Mrs. James Sealock and Mrs. Stanley Settle.
