Crashes Reported
On October 19 in Flint Hill a 1962 Dodge, owned and operated by Robert Edwin Baird of Battle Creek, Mich, and a 1953 Ford Pickup operated by Cecil Wayne Marsh of Flint Hill collided. Marsh was making a right turn into driveway when Baird started to pass on right side. About $300.00 damage to the Dodge and $100.00 to the Marsh car resulted. Vicky Silek of Front Royal, a passenger in the Baird car was taken to a doctor’s office for treatment of laceration of the forehead.
Also on October 19, 5 miles west of Sperryville, Pier Franco Spano of Hyattsville, Maryland driving a 1965 Pontiac stopped in a lane of heavy traffic and was struck in the rear by Leroy Tryrone Gregory of Washington, D.C. driving a 1962 Cadillac. Minor damage was done to both cars.
In the early morning of October 20 at the north limits of Flint Hill, Robert Steve Dodson of Sperryville driving a 1963 Dodge struck and killed a cow owned by John R. Bushey of Luray. Damage to the car was estimated to be $500. The cow was valued at $250.
