Weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. J Earl Wayland were Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Wayland and Sgt. and Mrs. Larry Lay land of Alexandria also Mr. and Mrs. .Larry Wayland and daughter, Kim of Arlington. Sunday afternoon callers were Mrs. Lester Yates and Mrs. Eva Brubaker.

Dr. Carroll B. Quaintance was in Williamsburg from Friday until Sunday to attend Homecoming activities at the College of William and Mary. Guests of Mrs. Quaintance during the weekend were her sisters Mrs. John Valentine and Mrs. Walter Stout of Cranford, N.J.

On Sunday Mrs. Mary B. Quaintance entertained at a birthday luncheon at the Holly House in Culpeper in honor of her sister Mrs. W. W. Sanford of Orange. Others present were Mr. Sanford and Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Sanford, Jr., of Orange, Mr. and Mrs. H.B. Wood, Jr., Dr. and Mrs. Carroll Quaintance, Mrs. John Valentine, of Sperryville, Mrs. W. H Massie, Jr. and Mrs. Bertie Lib Moffett of Washington.

Maury W. Brown was honored with a party on his 73rd birthday, Oct. 14. Those present were Mrs. Brown, Mrs. Phyllis Shirey, Mrs. Jean Konek and son John and Mr. and Mrs. Donald R. Williams, all of Richmond.

Mrs. W. H. Lyne spent from Wednesday until Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Larry Warren and family in Charlotte, N.C.

Among those attending a dinner Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Baker honoring their grandson Ray Baker who completed his basic training at Great Lakes were Mr. and Mrs. Lynwood Baker and children Stevie, Troy, Gary and Janet of Amissville, Mrs. Frederick Pugh and family Bryant, and Tara of Orange, Mr. and Mrs. James Selvage and children Debra and J. B. and Mrs. Lyle Baker and son Jonnie of Manassas, Linda Selvage of New Market and Sue Robert of Summerduck.
