After a season’s efforts expended to properly dry and arrange flowers for the annual flower sale and house tour, plans and preparations are complete for the event which is scheduled for this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, October 25 and 26. Flower arrangements of all sizes and kinds will be on sale at the Episcopal parish hall in Washington.
House's opened for the tour are Canterbury located east of Washington on Route 633 and owned by Dr. Katherine Oettinger; Roundabout Farm owned by Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Haggerty and Montpelier, belonging to Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Fletcher, both on Route 231 south of Sperryville. Each house is attractively decorated with dried arrangments.
At Roundabout Farm, many small articles of interest to be* seen include the mortar and pestle of Dr. Bremond, court physician to Napoleon Bonaparte*, patch boxes, snuff boxes, antique mirror and miniatures. There are also several oil portraits of members of the Bremond family, a handsome secretary of the Louis XVI period and paintings
