Speaks January 23

On Friday, January 23 at 1:30 p.m. at the Trinity Episcopal Church Parish Hali, Mr. B.T. Amos, Ext. Farm Management Specialist, will be present to discuss changes in income tax forms with emphasis on deductions. This meeting is planned as a leader training meeting for leaders from organized homemakers’ groups in the county, however, the public is invited to attend. Mr. Amos will be prepared to answer questions.

Drawing Classes

A class in basic drawing and painting will begin January 24 at the home of Mrs. Helen Kilby in Sperryville. It will be primarily for adults but a few exceptionally talented children over 10 will be enrolled. Classes will meet Saturday for eight or ten weeks. A small fee will be charged and early registration is required. Call 987-2551 for details.

Dr. Bryant To Speak

Dr. James R. Bryant of Richmond will conduct services at the Washington Baptist Church, Sunday, January 11 at 11 a.m. It has been announced Dr. Bryant will bring a special message to the young people.

ACP Approves

List of Vendors

Merchants, suppliers, contractors, and farmers were reminded today that purchase orders under the Agricultural Conservation ProgramACP) may be filled only by vendors who have been approved by the County Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation (ASC) Committee.

A list of approved vendors is posted in the County ASCS Office. H.S. Barksdale, Chairman of the Rappahannock County ASC Committee said that farmers often get purchase orders for both materials and services to be used in ACP practices. These purchase orders are used to pay contractbrs and suppliers directly for the Federal Government share of the cost of the conservation measure. They must be approved vendors.
