administered by DMV personnel using special equipment at all examining stations. Visual standards are given in the “Manual for Driver License Applicants” available from all examining stations and the Division of Motor Vehicles in Richmond.
For persons of the ages given, visual tests are required in all cases and written tests depending on the driving record. Persons may miss taking the tests on the basis that their renewal does not fall on the age list. Those persons not required to take any examination will find a notice on their application that photographing only is required. Otherwise, the application for renewal will state what parts of the examination the driver must take. However, all persons must appear at an examination station for the purpose of having their photograph taken.
After January 1, 1970, operator’s licenses will be issued to expire four years from birthday month of driver nearest to month in which license is issued. Chauffeur’s licenses will be issued to expire one year from birthday month of driver nearest to month in which license is issued.
Applications accepted after January 1, 1970, will be assessed fees in accordance with the following schedule:
