Needs New Name
The Culpeper Soil and Water Conservation District, Board of Supervisors are asking the citizens of this District to furnish a new name for the District that will better represent all the Counties (Culpeper, Greene, Madison, Orange, and Rappahannock). In 1938 Culpeper County was the only County in the presently constituted five-county District and the name was Culpeper County Soil Conservation District. In the next several years Greene, Madison, Orange and Rappahannock Counties individually voted to be included in this District, retaining the original name. The Supervisors believe that another name would better represent all counties and would aid in the Soil and Water Conservation effort.
