Angus bulls bred and reared in the hills of Rappahannock competed with the big league and came out winner. The top selling bulls in both the Culpeper and Dublin Performance Test Bull Sales were native sons, belonging to Ray T. Cannon of Castleton and C. E. Johnson, Jr., Sperryville.
Two-thirds interest in Ray Cannon’s Angus bull sold for $3,700 Gen. William C. Crane, Kingdom Farm, Leesburg, Va. This was the highest selling bull of all breeds. This bull indexed out at 177 and is the son of that strong breeding Kingdom Elevate.
Evas Manor Oak 4 was knocked down to Shearbrook Farm for a whopping $3,000, to top the Culpeper Sale. This fast gaining bull of C. E. Johnson, concluded his test at 173, the highest indexing bull at Culpeper.
