Raymond Johnson of WoodviUe has retired from the position of Rappahannock County Forest Warden after 25 years association with the Forestry Service. His retirement became effective yesterday. He was honored with a retirement dinner June 19 held at Brandy Station at which time he received a certificate which said, in part, “unselfishly given time, energy and talent in his endeavor to protect and improve forests in Virginia.” Among the variety of duties a forest warden performs is the distribution of tree seedlings to landowners and advising them in planting; collecting seeds each year; and prevention and control of forest fires.
