Fourth of July activities at Rappahannock Library will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday when the doors of the building open on an exhibit of valuable dolls and antique guns for the public to view. On the lawn will be free games and candied apples for young and old. Refreshing lemonade, made and sold by the 4-H Horse and Pony Club, will also be available. In addition there will be the delightful aroma from the food prepared for sale by the ladies of Hopewell Baptist Church, Sperryville, tempting everyone into buying and eating dinner during festivities.
Promptly at one o’clock, the “Spirit of 76” will strike up the music to lead the performers in a pageant, “Symbols of Democracy” to their places in front of the Library. An introduction to the program will be made by Philip Irwin.
