Four persons were Injured in a head-on collision early Thursday, June 25 on Route 522 just north of Flint Hill, but all are recovering satisfactorily. /

Mrs. Sandra Lenora Wharton or Washington sustained lacerations of her scalp and right leg and a{ possible fractured hip in the wreck which occurred when she attempted to pass a truck and struck an oncoming vehicle. 1116 1967 Chevrolet convertible she was driving was totaled. Mrs. Wharton was traveling north on Route 522 about 6:45 a.m. when the crash occurred, according to Trooper P. P. Dicks. She was hospitalized in Front Royal.

Driver of the second vehicle in the collision, a 67 Chevrolet, was Garnet Lee Largent of Winchester. He received lacerations of the chin and mouth. His vehicle was also a total loss.

Charles Currence of Winchester sustained lacerations of the scalp and face and a fractured vertebra. Howard E. Walter Jr. of Front Royal had abrasions of the left leg. They were both passengers in the Largent car.
