Library Lines
Mrs. George H. Davis, Jr., described the scenes of the ancient Inca civilization in Peru to an Interested group at the Library last night. She Illustrated her talk with a number of beautiful color slides, among which were some of the area which was recently devastated by an earthquake taken before the quake. The display of ancient and medieval artifacts arranged by Mrs. V. John Lyle was impressive and provided a sense of history as background for the program. Mrs. Lyle’s collection of ancient articles was accumulated personally, and Is of museum quality. Tire entire program was progressing well until the slide projector ceased to function. Since the most interesting portion of the talk and illustrations was yet to come, the audience requested that this be given on another evening. The date for continuation of this lecture, which will probably be combined with another travelogue, will be announced. Meantime, the ladies are to be congratulated upon their presentation, and quality of all of the slides deserves special mention.
Because of the July 4 celebration next Saturday, the usual Children’s Hour of reading will not be held.
