Wrecks Reported
Two vehicles were involved in a collision on Route 642 at Amissville about 5 p.m. Friday. According to Trooper J. B. Willis, Mrs. Ethel Witten Sanger of Washington, Va. operating a 1963 Oidsmobile was struck by Mrs. Tessie Stringfellow of Culpeper operating a 1966 Ford. Damage was estimated at $150 and Mrs. Stringfellow was charged with reckless driving and driving under the influence.
On Saturday at 8:50 p.m. a half mile east of Panorama on Route 211, James Richard Jenkins Jr. of Sperryville was involved in a crash. He ran off the right of the highway, then back across it to the left side where he struck the bank and overturned. The 1962 Plymouth in which he was traveling was a total loss. Jenkins was charged with reckless driving and driving under the influence.
Three vehicles were tangled in a rear end chain collison at Flatwood Inn west of Washington about 2 p.m. Sunday. Jonnie Edward Williams of Flint Hill operating a 1961 Chevrolet convertible stopped in the highway to make a left turn and a l?o7 Dodge driven by Alexander Emmett Constant Jr. of Fairfax following, stopped to allow Williams to turn.
Constant’s Dodge was struck in the rear by a 1967 Ford station wagon operated by Joseph Russell Moulton of Oxon Hill, Md., pushing the Dodge into the rear of the Williams’ car. Moulton was charged with following too closely by Trooper Willis who investigated these two accidents also.
A truck struck and killed a deer on Route 211 west of Sperryville last Thursday night. No injury or damage resulted according to Trooper W. A. Buntin, who investigated.
