Mrs. Nellie W. Brown
A funeral service for Mrs. Nellie Woodard Brown of Sperryville was held Saturday at 11 a.m. In the Sperryville Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Jerry Campbell and the Rev. William Harrison. Burial was in Sperryville Cemetery.
Mrs. Brown, 82, died July 15, 1970 at the Winchester Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Rappahannock County, widow of Luther Warfield Brown. Survivors include three sons, William J. Brown of Fairfax; Lewis K. Brown of Baltimore and Luther Edward Brown of Sperryville; six daughters, Mrs. Alfonso Craun of Orange; Mrs. Chester Butler of Hagerstown, Md.; Mrs. James Way land and Mrs. Carson Johnson of Sperryville; Mrs. John Poferl and Mrs. Graham Allison, both of Baltimore, Md.; a sister, Mrs. Charles Fant of Baltimore, Md.; 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
