Crewel Embroidery On Craft Agenda
The Art* and Crafts group picnic was held Tuesday, July 14, at Kilby’s pond, near SperryviUe, with Mrs. Helen Kilby as hostess. Those who attended enjoyed a picnic lunch beside a lovely, tranquil pond surrounded by apple orchards.
A demonstration on chip carving was given by Mrs. Kilby who also displayad attractive boxes with this type carving on the lids. The next meeting of the Rappahannock Arts and Crafts group Is scheduled for Tuesday, August 11 at 10 a.m. at Cab-Inn. SperryviUe. The craft Interest wMl be Crewel embroidery. Bring material, embroidery, thread, hoops and a crewel needle If yon wish to learn the beak stitches, or bring a piece which you been doing for display.
