Flint Hill Prepares

For Camtval Tune

The Flint Hill Fire Department is putting the final touches to the Annual Carnival which will be held July 19 through August 1. Again this year McSpadden Rides from Florida will furnish 10 or more flashy rides on the brilliantly illuminated midway.

Wednesday, July 29 there will be a giant display of fireworks for all to see and enjoy.

Thursday, July 30 at 7 p.m. a grand parade consisting of 150 units will file through the village The parade will feature Miss Virginia Holton as Grand Marshal, several very special guests including the newly crowned “Miss Virginia,” top marching banks, floats, beauty queens, majorettes and the newest in fire fighting and rescue equipment. Plate suppers will be served during and after the parade by the Ladies Auxiliary.

On Friday night two prizes will given away, a 600 pound purebred registered Black Angus heifer and a set of china. The Carnival will be brought to a climax Saturday night by the awarding of the grand prize, a 1970 Plymouth and other cash prizes. Each night on display in the Fire Hall will be the Virginia Department of Highways State Fair exhibit, and the Virginia Game and Wildlife display. There is no charge for these attractions. There will be plenty of food, games and amusement for all ages each night, Wednesday through Saturday.
