Church Window Dedicated
Memory Dr. Hurtt
Mr. and Mrs. J. Newbill Miller and sons accompanied Mrs. Miller’s aunt Mrs. Harry Hurtt on Sunday, July 19 to Chestertown, Md. for services at Shrewsbury Episcopal Church where a stained glass window was dedicated to the memory of Mrs. Hurtt husband, the late Dr. Hurtt.
Shrewsbury Episcopal Church was established in 1692 as the South Sassafras Parish. The present church building dates back to 1832.
The window was formally dedicated by the Rt. Rev. George A. Taylor, bishop of the Diocese of Easton. He was assisted by the rector, the Rev. William Wylie, Jr.
Mr. Wylie was ordained at Trinity Episcopal Church, Washington, Va. many years ago and while serving here lived at The Maples, home of the late Mrs. Louise Price and now owned and occupied by Mr. and Mrs. J. Newbill Miller.
