we gathered on the patio to listen i to guitar playing by Don, dancing j by the children, and ' movie-making by Elizabeth. The sun was peeking through the I sweetpeas which were so high they provided a hedge across the backyard fence. All gathered around for the filming of the 8-year-old granddaughter, Dawn, and grandson, Dean as they displayed their full dancing talents. In the background, the pork chops provided a pleasant mouth-watering aroma as they sizzled on the grill.
After having postponed the departure of our relatives the third time, we were guided along a country highway to the New York Throughway for our journey to Niagara Falls. On the Thruway, we soon decided to take the less congested U. S. Highway 20 and do some sightseeing. This proved to be a wise move, and scenic. At Geneva, we lingered for ice cream. Here at Geneva is the site of former Samson Air Force Base, where our son, Gerald, had been stationed in his early Air Force career days. Treats were in store on this scenic route, and one of the most breathtaking summer scenes was the viewing of each of the six Finger Lakes, which are quite slender and beckon swimmers, fishermen and boatmen. Explorers to these parts have discovered hidden waterfalls, and tourists are always welcome to visit the lakeside wineries. The Finger Lakes have all the bubble
