the roof of the local high school gymnasium. The roof is in extremely bad condition and will have to be repaired at a cost of $3,000 for half of it and $5,800 for a complete job.

Much concern was voiced over such extensive repairs being needed on a building which is only eleven years old. Mr. Norton was advised to obtain a second estimate on the work. Chairman J. N. Miller felt a letter should be written the State Board of Education concerning the roof which was built to state specifications. He felt some other county might be spared the same problem if attention was brought to it.

Current accounts were approved for payment before adjournment.

Instruction On Oxygen

An instruction session on the giving of oxygen with breathing apparatus will be given at the Flint Hill Fire Hall, September 17 at 7:30 for the benefit of the Amissville and Flint Hill Rescue Squads. All members of these two companies are urged to be present.

Local Cancer Unit

To Meet Sept. 14

The Rappahannock County Unit of the American Cancer Society will meet on Monday, September 14, 1970 at 8 p.m. in the Court House in Washington. The new officers will be installed at this time and Mrs. Virginia Schneider, Field Represenative of the Virginia Division, will give a short talk. The general public is cordially invited to this meeting and especially those who worked during the Cancer Crusade.
