With the high cost of housing, space for living has been decreasing and many families find themselves housed in quarters which might be considered too small for comfort. Ideally, we would like to have' more space; but since this may not be possible, we find there are ways we can better utilize the space available.

First comes on analysis of just what activities take place, or how the family would like to utilize the space. Then a study of how the space is arranged and used at the present is necessary. Now, what done to rearrange things so there is space for all activities the family enjoys? This may also, caU for some adjustment in attitudes, as decisions are made to do away with seldom used dining room furniture-, for instance, in favor of a console cabinet with a table folded into it. Taking up a space about the size of a small buffet, the table will open to 104". In the meantime, the top drawer will store linens. Then there is the drop leaf extepsion table which foils to 8" when not in use and extends to 110" when needed for dining. There are other such dual purpose pieces suitable for dining, also.
