Holiday Weekend
A Thanksgiving Day auto crash resulted in the hospitalization of Miss Bernadien Wilson of Sperryville who sustained a fractured cheek bone and lacerated knee. The wreck occurred in Old Hollow near Sperryville on Route 600. According to a report by Trooper J. R. Quinley, Miss Wilson, driving a 66 Ford, was struck by Charles William Rickets Jr. of Washington, Va., also in a 66 Ford.
Jean Margaret Hunter of Washington, a passenger in the Rickets car, sustained a lacerated knee.
Damage to each vehicle was estimated at $300 and Rickets was charged with failing to yield half of the roadway.
. A hit and run traffic crash occurred on Route 1001 in Sperryville about 10 pm. Friday. A 68 Ford Mustang owned by Charles B. Dodson which was parked in front of his residence was struck. Charged with the offense was Betty Lou Atkins also of' Sperryville who wai operating a 1960 Chevrolel owned by Virgil Lee Atkins. Th« crash was investigated by Troopei J. B. Willis who estimated damage at $150 to each vehicle.
