Your issue of February 3, 1972 carried a one page letter (p.3) from a prolific demagogue. I do not intend to answer his statement seriatim nor do 1 intend to get into any newspaper hassle with him. However, in the interest of advising your readers of the nature of his rapier, 1 write this one letter.
He uses some quotes about Prince William County, i.e., the county “has urged” the Army Engineers to favorably consider the construction of Salem Church reservoir, etc., and then uses some barbs at the Corps of Engineers.
Randy Carter well knew that the report by the Engineers to the U.S. Congress was sent forward in compliance with a resolution by the Committee of Public Works, L'.S. Senate, adopted June 30, 1955. He also well knew that Prince William County had, by letter from its Board of Supervisors dated March 27, 1965, stated its intent and ability to participate in the equitable share of the costs allocated to Water Supply.
