Anyone who cannot see that the Laurel Mills bridge in Rappahannock County is so deteriorated with age that it is rotten, ugly and hazardous has to be blind or just plain ignorant.
I choose to believe that those who oppose a new and better bridge possess none of the aforesaid handicaps, and that green power (money) is the major factor involved. I believe it fitting in this issue to suggest that some individuals are entertaining selfishness, as less important improvements in other areas would be to their advantage. The remainder are simply misinformed, have little fear for their own safety, or never use the bridge anyway.
Let’s study the bridge from a reasonable and sensible point of view, for a change:
I know the bridge exists and perhaps you' know the bridge exists. But let’s also consider the motorist who has no knowledge of its location, its single lane, its weight capacity, its inability to accept the flow of traffic at a normal rate of speed.
