was necessitated by increased operating costs, and that this increase in tuition fees is reflected in the 1972-74 biennial budget. The increased tuition will be offset by an appropriatibn of $250,000 in scholarship funds for each year of the 1972-74 biennium, Dr. Lewis noted, which will be in addition to financial aid already available through the colleges.
New tuition fees will be effective with the 1972 first summer term which begins the middle of June.

Increases were recorded in Loudoun, Fauquier and Prince William Counties in the Food Stamp program in February as compared to January. Rappahannock County also posted a slight increase.
In Loudoun County, 1,536 low income people were on the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Stamp program in February, in comparison to 1,219 in January.
In Fauquier County, 1,118 low income people were on the program in February as compared to 995 the previous month.
In Rappahannock County, 273 were on the program in February as compared to 258 in January. □
