Ralph Hamilton Rowzie of Amissville died September 14 in Fauquier Hospital Warrenton. He was born December 23, 1903, the son of the late J. Maurice Rowzie and Ada Hawkins Rowzie and had lived his entire life in Amissville, Rappahannock County.
He was a retired salesman, having been associated with a tobacco company and a baking company and in recent years with insurance and real estate.
Mr. Rowzie was a member of Amissville Baptist Church where he was a Deacon and former Sunday School teacher. He was a charter member of the Rappahannock Lions Club and had served on the Rappahannock County School Board for 25 years, in addition to holding a position on the Regional School Board.
He was a member of long standing and former president of Amissville Fire Department and of the County Fire Association. He had served on the local Democratic Committee for many years and was a member of Washington Masonic Lodge 78 AFandAM.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Marion Richardson Rowzie of Amissville; three daughters, Mrs. John Willis III of Blacksburg, Mrs. Richard Hummel and Miss Linda
