With trooper vacancies existing in the Department of State Police, Colonel H.W. Burgess, the Department’s Superintendent, invited qualified young men from age 21 through 29 to consider a State Police career.
“This invitation is extended to any race, color or creed,” he said. “There is absolutely no discrimination. Should any young man meet our standards, we want him. Everyone gets er ctly the same treatment.”
He added that a man must meet certain height and weight requirements, have a high school diploma or a General Educational Development Certificate, be of excellent character, be in good physical condition
