NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Notice is hereby given of the intention of the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors to adopt the following proposed ordinance at its next regular meeting on October 5, 1972 commencing at 10 a.m. at the courthouse in Washington. “BE IT RESOLVED, THAT by and under the authority granted under Section 29-184.2 of the 1950 Code of Virginia, as amended, the County of Rappahannock in the State of Virginia, hereby charges a license tax on all dogs within the county, which tax shall, in no event, exceed the sum of Five Dollars per dog; the amount of said dog tax license shall be, as follows: MALE-For a male dog, Three Dollars $3.00 UNSEXED FEMALE -For an unsexed female dog, Three Dollars $3.00 FEMALE-For a female dog, Five Dollars $5.00 KENNEL-For 20 dogs - Thirty Dollars $30.00 KENNEL-For 50 Dogs - (or more) Fifty Dollars $50.00 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that it shall be unlawful for any person to own a dog six (6) months old or over in this county unless such dog is licensed as above provided for. Dog Licenses shall run by the Calendar Year, namely, from January first to December thirty-first, inclusive, and the License Tax, which shall be the only license tax on dogs in this county, shall be payable at the office of the Treasurer of the County.” All interested persons may appear before the Board at the aforesaid time and place and will be given an opportunity to be heard either in support of or in opposition to the proposed Ordinance.
