The ASC committee chairman also reminded farmers that they can certify just as soon as they have their program crops planted and know they are incompliance.
Certification may be made any time between now and June 30 and the earlier certification is made, the more assured everyone is that those program payments will be ready when July rolls around.
Spot checks are made each year on farms participating in the programs. Farms to be spot-checked are selected on a random basis. Rappahannock County farmers have an excellent record and few errors have been found in past years. Usually these have been minor. □
