THE TIME HAS LONG SINCE passed when a farmer can do as he darn well pleased within the confines of his own boundary fence. Farm and city have become too closely interrelated to allow it. Industrial waste has reduced crop yields and poisoned livestock; agricultural waste has polluted down stream city water supplies. The following briefs of recently enacted laws and standards are dry reading but will eventually effect many farmers and landowners in Rappahannock . As in the past, Extension will not be involved in enforcing any law but will be responsible for helping to make farmers aware of them.
