Grease 2 (8 x lMs-inch) layer cake pans; line with waxed paper. Sift together into a mixing bowl, flour, sugar, corn starch, baking powder and salt. In another bowl, beat together lightly' with a fork, egg yolks, corn oil and water. Stir into dry ingredients. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form when beater is raised. Fold into flour mixture. Pour into prepared pans. Bake in 375°F. oven 25 to 30 minutes or until top springs back when lightly touched with finger. Remove from pans. Cool. Sandwich layers together with jam or jelly and dust with confectioners sugar.
