COLLECTING American Antiques is the subject of the fourth in the current series of Saturday Craft Seminars at The Country Store of Washington, which will be conducted by Linda and Gary Gruber on May 19. The seminar is scheduled for 2 p.m. with a $2 registration charge.
Linda and Gary Gruber are avid collectors, and their house is full of items in their collection of 18th and 19th century American furniture and folk art.
The Grubers have not only been collecting for years for themselves, they have also acted as “pickers” for a number of antique stores.
As the prices of all antiques and collectors’ items have skyrocketed in the last few years, it has become more difficult to find bargains because everyone is more aware of the worth of antiques.
