Elementary
field day
Five area schools participated in an athletic field day Tuesday at Bing Crosby Stadium, Front Royal. Rappahannock County Elementary School took 31 first place awards in a schedule which included 50 events.
In the competition the local youngsters took 14 second place ribbons and one third. This left only four events in which these students did not place.
Among the events scheduled were races, jumping, relays and dashes. Other schools taking part were A. S. Rhodes, Fifteenth Street, Otterburn and Bentonville.
