STATISTICS can be depressing things, but the figures showing how 1972 was a relatively goo year in Rappahannock on the highways came as welcome news, indeed. One highway accident fatality was recorded last vear in contrast with the previous year when the county experienced four traffic deaths. Unfortunately, the 1972 record won t be improved in 1973; one death has already occured. But if all of us are careful and considerate, it might be possible for the standing to get no worse. Certainly it is a goal every driver should strive for, for himself and his family and for the well-being of his fellow citizens as well. □
