THE FOLK Music Society of the Blue Ridge will have its first annual covered dish picnic and informal folk music social at Gafia Lodge on Sunday afternoon, May 20, beginning at 2 p.m. Area residents who are interested in membership are invited.
This event will round off the first year of activity for the society which was organized last Summer to promote “the preservation, understanding, and enjoyment of traditional American folk, old-timey, and Bluegrass music in the northern Shenandoah Valley region.” During the past year, the society has sponsored a variety of programs and dances.
