SHARPLY rising costs in recent years are adversely affecting the current and future trout production programs in Virginia according to Jack Hoffman, Chief of the Game Commission’s Fish Division.
Citing just one example of cost increase, Hoffman stated that the feed which catchable trout must be fed (in the period prior to being stocked in streams) has risen from 12 cents per pound to 22 cents per pound in the period since 1971.
