EVERY motorist should carry red reflector flares or torches as part of his safety equipment.
“Any stationary object on the highway is a potential danger to motorists,” says John T. Hanna, director, Highway Safety Division of Virginia.
“By using flares or reflectors to warn oncoming traffic, stopped motorists can protect themselves from other vehicles. However, motorists should be careful to use only those warning devices which have been approved by the State Police Superintendent.”
