“PEOPLE are coming to our office in large numbers these days inquiring about or filing for Supplemental Security Income,” reports Mrs. Hazel F. Crumpton, district manager of the Winchester social security office.
“Many more persons are eligible, however, and we anticipate the volume of callers will continue for sometime.”
The new program is administered by the U. S. Government, paying monthly checks to people in financial need who are 65 or older, and to people in need at any age who are blind or disabled.
