H.N. Ritter, Inc. of Berryville, has. received a Northern Virginia Builders Association award for excellence in construction of an individual house over $60,000 with outstanding workmanship of crafts for the James A. Moore residence at Front Royal. Moore is president of the Rappahannock Ski Area. The home has two bedrooms and a playroom on the ground floor, and a den, kitchen, living and dining rooms on the upper floor. There is a fireplace on each floor, cathedral ceiling and a continuous balcony overlooking the Shenandoah River a hundred feet below. Architect for the house is Charles T. Matheson, A.I.A., of Middleburg. C.T. Tusing of the Ritter firm received an NVBA award for outstanding craftsmanship performed on the Moore residence.
