Luke suggested that before PEC “gets too far down the road” on the environmental inventory study, that PEC, the Planning Commissioners and representatives from the Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection should get together.for “a meeting of the minds.” They will meet at the PEC office in Wabrenton.
Gene Wunderlich, who has been compiling a study on the ownership of land in Rappahannock for the Department of Agriculture, said his study reached several conclusions. There should be “improved tenure arrangements,” including more provision for the renting of farmland; the breakup of large parcels of farmland should be restricted; purchasers of lots for new houses should be attracted to land surrounding existing villages.
