THE General Assembly is now in the third full/ week of the 1975 session.

Over 780 bills have been introduced in the House of Delegates and over 400 bills have been introduced in the Senate. I think it -is clear that the General Assembly cannot consider all of these bills within a 30-day session and the-session will probably be extended to 45.day&.-Under the Constitution there can be no restriction on the type or volume of legislation to be introduced and this makes it all the more difficult to hold the -session to 30 days.

I favor a session of the General Assembly every other year in the even-numbered years with a length of 90 days, which I believe will be: more .efficient than a 60day session in one year and a 30day . session in. alternate years and would be just as efficient as a; 60-day session each year.
