But, according to Phil Irwin, Fauquier has not divvied up financially as the case went before the State Corporation Commission. Irwin said he didn’t know whether Fauquier planned to appeal the SCC’s ruling, but if they didn’t do it on their own, he hoped the county would contribute to RLEP’s effort. Fauquier Supervisors have said they will decide at their meeting this week.
FAUQUIER farmer Charles DuVal thanked RLEP members for their work in fighting the powerline. “I thought we had it licked. I’m wondering now if we should even go before the Virginia Supreme Court. When 664 was passed, I knew then that the power company and the Governor and the whole clique had got in together so that the local government couldn’t do one single solitary thing about it.”
