all counties east of the Blue Ridge Mountains from December 15 through the last day of February, both dates inclusive.
R13-1-1. It shall be lawful to trap otter in all counties west of the Blue Ridge Mountains from January 1 through February 15, both dates inclusive.
CHAPTER 18. Turkey.
R18-.2 It shall be lawful to hunt bearded turkeys only from the third Saturday in April through the third Saturday in May, inclusive, from one-half hour before sunrise to 11 o’clock a.m., except in the counties of Lee and Mecklenburg, which shall be closed to hunting. Bearded turkeys shall be hunted by calling. It shall be unlawful to use dogs or organize drives, for the purpose of hunting.
CHAPTER 23. Fishing Generally.
R23-3. Except as provided in this regulation and in R24-10.1 and R24-11.1, there shall be no size limit on any species of fish. There shall, however, be a twentysix inch minimum size limit on muskellunge and northern pike and a twentyinch minimum size limit on landlocked striped bass (rockfish), except that in Gaston Reservoir to the mouth of Difficult Creek on the Roanoke (Staunton) River Arm and to the mouth of the Bannister River on the Dan River Arm the minimum size limit on landlocked striped bass (rockfish) shall be twelve inches. The minimum size limit on yellow pike perch (walleye) in Smith Mountain and Leesville reservoirs shall be twenty inches. Also, there shall be a twelve-inch minimum size limit on largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass in the North Fork of Pound Reservoir and in the Roanoke (Staunton) and Dan rivers and their tributaries downstream from Niagara Dam on the Roanoke River and the Brantly Steam Plant Dam on the Dan River and the Shenandoah River including the North and South forks downstream from Route 42 bridge in Timberville on the North Fork and from the confluence of North and South rivers on the South Fork below Port Republic and the New River from Claytor Dam to the west Virginia boundary line, and in the North Anna, Chickahominy, Chesdin, Claytor, Philpott and Flanaghan reservoirs and Beaverdam Reservoir in Loudoun County and in the waters of Fort A.P. Hill Reservation. It shall be unlawful to have any largemouth, smallmouth or spotted bass less than twelve inches in length in one’s possession while on any of the waters mentioned in the preceding sentence.
