BLEF critical of Miller

statement backing Vepco

THE RAPPAHANNOCK LEAGUE for Environmental Protection has denounced the Virginia attorney general for “promoting Vepco interests while ignoring the interests of citizens who oppose its plans for new high voltage transmission lines.” In a critical letter to Attorney General Andrew P. Miller, RLEP President R. Philip Irwin said he was “incredulous” that Miller had submitted an unsolicited statement supporting Vepco’s position in a legal proceeding to which Virginia Was ,not even a party. Miller’s “Statement of Position of the Commonwealth of Virginia” was filed October 14 before the Nuclear Regulatory Commission following completion of hearings on Vepco’s planned North AnnaMorris ville transmission line.
