Fund drive
The fund drive for the Washington Volunteer Fire Department is in full swing and community residents will be contacting all households served by the Washington organization. They will be requesting contributions to the department’s capital development program, the main feature of which is a new fire house. The new facility has already been started at the Washington carnival grounds and is expected to cost a total of $45,000 when completed.
A spokesman expressed the department’s appreciation to those people working on the fund drive. He said, “We hope people will give generously.
