In light of the crucial nature of the first years of school, it is imperative that all persons interested in the maximum development of children join forces to insure that (1) early educational opportunities are offered all young children; (2) these early foundations of learning are built upon in subsequent years; (3) the curriculum is carefully evaluated in light of needs and developmental stages of children; and (4) the home and school become partners in the education of their children.
