Miss Brenda Lou Jenkins and Oral Wayne Dovel were united in marriage January 17, 1976 at the Flint Hill Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Albert Kling officiating. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ashby Jenkins of Washington. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Dovel of Elkton.
Miss Rebecca Kling provided the nuptial music and Miss Sharon Lillard was soloist.
Given in Marriage by her father, the bride wore a white chiffon gown with daisy lace trim and a floor length veil. She carried a bouquet of red and white roses.
Mrs. Earl Jenkins, ofCastleton, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. She was attired in a royal blue gown trimmed in silver and white lace. She carried a bouquet of red, white and blue carnations.
Bridesmaids were Miss Arlene Dovel of Elkton, sister of the bridegroom, Mrs. Connie Savage of Rixeyville, sister of the bride and Miss Rachel Campbell of The Plains. They wore red gowns similar to that of the matron of honor and carried bouquets of red and white carnations.
Alvin E. Dovel of Richmond served his brother as best man. Ushers were William Kee, brother-in-law of the bridegroom and Winston Shifflett, both of Elkton, Bobby Jenkins of Browntown, brother of the bride. Miss Carolyn Jenkins of Washington, niece of the bride, was flower girl and Brian Dovel of Richmond, the bridegroom’s nephew, was ring bearer. Miss Sandy and Sharon Jenkins carried the bride’s veil.
A 'reception followed the ceremony at the Flint Hill Fire Hall.
