In certain cases foster children are also eligible for these benefits. If a family has foster children living with them and wishes to apply for such meals for them, it should contact the school. It is not necessary for parents to submit a new application if their children are presently receiving free or reduced price meals.

Under the provisions of the policy the principal will review applications and determine eligibility. If a parent is dissatisfied with the ruling of the official, he may make a request either orally or in writing to T. A. Fleetwood, Assistant Superintendent, Sperryville, 22740 (987-8773) for a hearing to appeal the decision. The policy contains an outline of the hearing procedure.

Each school and the office of the Division Superintendent has a copy of the complete policy which may be reviewed by any interested person.
