NEWS, NEWS, NEWS! There’s plenty of it this week!
The Seniors have been working diligently trying to earn money for their Senior trip by accepting donations for prizes that were given away at Tuesday’s basketball game. Many Seniors have also been practicing for their upcoming Senior play, “Pillow Talk.” It is a comical love story about two people (Jan and Brad) who meet via a party line they both share. This is where the trouble and the romance both begin. It’s a delightful play, full of humor that’s guaranteed to tickle your funnybone. It will be presented in March. You won’t want to miss it.
Our Eighth Grade basketball team is still going strong with two recent victories. One was with Page County where our Panthers, trailing Page County by eight points at half time, pulled up their score and managed to reap a victory 35-29. Buck Williams with eight steals in the third quarter and Tony Way land doing some good outside shooting, were decisive in helping their team to victory.
Friday night, our Panthers took on Luray’s eighth grade and were again victorious, defeating Luray by a 38-36 score. Rappahannock trailed Luray by 13 points in the first quarter but again came back strong. John Jenkins and Gary Leake did some super rebounding and defensive playing while Greg Bright scored 19 points for high man. Gary and John followed as second and third high.
