Firemens Carnival
The Washington Firemens Carnival is scheduled for Wednesday through Saturday, September 1, 2, 3, 4. Contests for Honorary Fire Chief and Little Miss Washington are being held in conjunction with carnival festivities and entries for the contests are being sought.
Girls ages 14 to 18 are eligible to participate in the Honorary Fire Chief division and 4 to 8 year old girls may compete for Little Miss Washington. The younger girls must be residents of Hampton District.
Mrs. Kermit Weakley is in charge of the contests and those wishing to enter should contact her at 675-3246.□
GARDEN CLUB FLOWER SHOW
The Rappahannock County Garden Club will hold its intra-club Flower Show on Wednesday, June 16 at 2 p.m. at the Metzingers’ Roundabout Farm, Sperryville. Members of the outgoing executive committee are hostesses. Club members are reminded to bring their arrangements early and to notify a hostess if they cannot attend. □
